Daniel’s research has shaped the state-of-the-art in integrated photonics for over a decade, driving innovation in chip-to-chip communication. As co-founder of Black Semiconductor, his focus is on rethinking current solutions and forging new possibilities in the semiconductor industry.

Cedric is a leading authority in nano-applications and materials engineering and is a key contributor to the innovation of graphene and graphene-related materials for functional applications. He is one of the few global experts of 2D materials and their integration into 300 mm lines and has over 20 years of experience in the field.

Jay Nunez brings over 30 years of semiconductor sales leadership and business development experience. He has driven significant revenue by providing solutions for the server, client, automotive, federal, and memory markets. At Black Semiconductor, he is a change agent who draws on proven success to build bold new growth.

Ogi Brkic is a technology executive with 28 years of experience in semiconductor leadership, including roles as VP and General Manager at AMD and Intel. As an engineer, he combines deep technical expertise, product innovation, and strategic partnerships across AI and high-performance computing. At Black Semiconductor, Ogi continues to drive innovation and – building solutions that push the industry forward.

FabONE is our dedicated fab for graphene-based optical chip technology. It’s set to become the world’s first production facility for this breakthrough innovation.

Black Semiconductor acquires
Applied Nanolayers

In March 2025, we acquired Applied Nanolayers, a leading graphene specialist based in the Netherlands, to accelerate our Integrated Graphene Photonics roadmap. Their expert team and industrial 200 mm wafer platform brought volume graphene production in-house, significantly shortening our path to scale. By combining our established graphene capabilities in the Netherlands with our upcoming 300mm pilot production at FabONE. This acquisition accelerates the development of an energy-efficient, high-performance chip technology in Europe.
